This year AIN is keen to expand its network by increasing membership,
enhancing services, and strengthening team effort and camaraderie within its 13
Working Groups and 7 Provincial Chapters. For instance, the collaborative
effort of the AIN Health Working Group has resulted in development of a digital
health portal. The portal is expected to be useful for both government and
non-governmental stakeholders to overview the program coverage and to identify
the gaps and overlaps.
AIN implemented its strategic plan 2019 – 2022 goals, initiatives and activities and entered into a
new development stage. Likewise, the preparatory work for the next cycle of the
strategic plan is underway. This year we
aim to work closely with NGO Federation and other national federations and
networks of civil societies professionals and medias, National Planning
Commission and other relevant commissions international development partners, key
line ministries and the Social Welfare Council. Further, this year, adhering to
the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion, as well as sustainable, and locally led and owned development we
intend to accelerate the strengthening of
civic space and engagement, development and humanitarian support and maintain
steady growth of our network to contribute to Government of Nepal’s development
efforts, plan and priorities to fulfil the national aspiration of “prosperous
Nepal and happy Nepali”.
This
year also marks 27th year of our establishment. I take this
opportunity to thank all our valued members and partners alike for their
contribution in this nearly three-decade long journey. Meanwhile, we are all
eagerly waiting for the 9th AIN Cup Futsal Tournament. Undoubtedly, the
annual futsal event has become the most popular event for AIN. Likewise, we have
started the AIN Social Hour, taking place on the last Friday of each month. It
has been organized to create an informal space for member organizations where
they can share their stories, concerns, meet and greet new friends, connect
with old ones. I hope this platform opens new avenues where members can speak
their minds and feel rejuvenated.
Lastly, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the AIN secretariat staff and the committed Steering Committee members who have devoted their full energy to the network’s development. Please feel free to write to us at reshma@ain.org.np for any concerns and feedback.
